I like constant because my DVD player won't play variable bitrate

Well, i´ve tried variable bitrate and it works on my pioneer dv-454.
But whats the difference between constant bitrate and variable bitrate?
Does any of then giving better quality?

It is not realy constant bitrate but rather constant compression ratio.
Both modes are variable bitrate.
Variable is better for High action
While constant is better for very long movies.
The dvd2one forum is the best place for questions related to dvd2one.
Many here are dead set against dvd2one. It's all a personal choice.

@Beater
Constant ratio removes the same amount of information from all streams, whereas Variable removes more from certain areas than it does from others. Many users report a more accurate filesize prediction while using Constant, which makes sense, since it's mathmatically simple to arrive at a given filesize: If your movie files are one Gig too big, then only one Gig taken evenly through the entire video stream will give you the size you need. Variable takes some from here... leaves this HERE alone... takes more from ANOTHER place... there's more planning involved, leading to a greater possibility for error.
Most full-disk copies seem to go better on Constant. Movie-only projects seem more governed by the length, since Variable mode may well have too much information taken out of certain scenes when only a slight scaling made evenly over the entire stream may have worked better.
Since neither mode alters the variable bitrate of the original movie, both modes still result in a variable bitrate backup. The title of the modes only describe the method used to get there.
