Since pdating to version 6.0.9.2 footage I have commpressed with interlacing turned on only play half height. Like it's throwing away every other field. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling vp6. I have also tried newly commpressed video to no avail.

On2Tech please help me.

You are saying that your material that you are using is interlaced or you are playing back on an NTSC device?

I have the same 'problem'

I have a 720x576 sized file, and it's interlaced.
I encode a VP6 file with the same size (720x576), and in the encoding options I tick the 'Interlaced' button, so now VP6 knows it's interlaced.

I'm using ZoomPlayer and MediaCenter to play back the file.
With the 'old' version it would deinterlace the video on-the-fly (by mixing the 2 fields or blend them).

Well...it dosen't do that any more.

It seems to take one of the field (that has a size of 720x288), and only display that, with the lower end of the picture is black.

So the player still thinks it's playing back a 720x576 sized video.

To get VP6 to deinterlace, you have to activate it first in VP6's option screen (if you didn't know that).

I'm trying to use it for interlaced content to be played to a tv. I have video in xvid and mjpeg that plays perfect on tv from my graphics card tv-out. From your description your having the same problem as me. I have tried checking the deinterlace option but that does nothing.
