Is it just me or am the only one who is having troble with these software and their conflicts?

I currently have DoItFast4U v1.4.0, BatchCCEWS v0.9.1.2, ReAuthorist v1.0.0. It's taken me several days to reach half of my guide because of software conflicts (one not supporting another, which supports another etc...) I've seen more errors associated with these three software than I have in my life.

I know there are people on this board who develop these programs so I'll ensure I won't go into it too far, but what I wanted to ask is this...

Is it possible, at all, to follow the 'Big 3' guide using alternative software? I'm looking to make dvd backups using quality over speed, but without the hassle of conflicting software.

Many thanks for any help provided.

Well, all 3 are front-end programs for other programs that do the actual work. So you can, as an alternative, work with those programs yourself and do the work yourself. Good luck,

Yes, I think you should try doing this using the programs that the big3 automates for you and see just how much work is saved by using these front ends. You'll have a better appreciation then.

@Samurai

huh? did you try to use the program in concert with the guide? basically as stated above they are just frontends for other applications.you can do the process manually (follow an older scenarist guide.) i have never noticed any conflicts. there are some dvds that require manual authoring but doitfast4u tells you so.

if you wanted to say the big3 has a learning curve.. id agree there (although after your third - fourth dvd you will think its almost too easy)... if you want easy then i think a one-click is for you. (No having your cake and eating it too.) either that or make your own 'big-3'

points taken onboard.

i've managed to get to the encoding step but it seems to be taken forever. it's been encoding for 3 hours now. is this normal? i still have another 2 hours 5 mins left.

5+ hours is normal. That's why i do my encodes at night before i go to bed. Start encode->go to sleep->wake up->reauthor. :D

I'm doing a 3 pass and it takes aprox 5hours on a Barton 2500+ (not overclocked). Let's hope my p4 2.6C can do it quicker. But it's worth ever minute spent ... quality is a priority :D
