I have this problem. I'll try to explain it the best i can.
The dvd i want to back-up is "Vasco Rossi @ S.Siro 2003" a Live concert (using "Scenarist NT & the big 3" guide). The structure of the dvd is very simple.
VTS_01 ---> all the movie (7,09 giga, excl. vts_01_0.vob)
VTS_02 ---> the initial logo and warnings.
Some of the menu is in VIDEO_TS.vob (74mb) and the rest is in VTS_01_0.vob (456mb).
The problem is that during the concert appear some "links" that bring to, if you press enter, some specials that are all included in VTS_01_0.VOB. It's kinda Matrix1's white rabbit. I wasn't able to reproduce this feature.
The question is: where do i have to look for this commands? In the ifo or in the vob?
If i open the original vts_01_1.vob (just ripped from the orig. dvd) in Menuedit it tells me that at cell5 there is a command. The command is "CallSS VTSM (menu 6, rsm_cell 5)". I tried to save this in a file, then open the edited vts_01_1.vob file (created by me with scenarist) and pasted the command to the same cell5. But it doesn't work. The strange is that Menuedit tells me that is going to modify the vob, but if i look at the "last modified" date it's not changed and, if i re-open the vts_01_1.vob the command is there (even if the vob isn't modified at all, accoridng to the "last modified" date).
Someone can help me?
Thanks
Mogan

P.S. if i use a software like dvd2one i have no problem, but the quality is very poor.

hi mogan,
i havent had much experience with menuedit so i cant comment on using it to recreate your 'Buttons over Video' in your reauthored vobs.
what i can do is point you to some fantastic guides on how to use scenarist (and other tools) to create the buttons and links.
firstly have a read of the guide for the matrix by SeYtoN -
http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/ButtonOverVideo.htm
and Influenzas guide
http://www.doom9.org/mpg/Button%20over%20video%20guide%20by%20Influenza.htm
and OxPs Infinnifilm guide
http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/infinifilm.htm
and you can also search for 'buttons' etc in the forums for some other pointers.
if you run into any problems, post back and i am sure someone (ie influenza :sly: he he) will be able to help you out.
good luck

Jel gets a helpful newbie award. :helpful:

Mogan: the feature you are describing is known as Button Over Video, and those guides Jel showed you will help you to understand it better.
