i have a few videoclips from various dvds, but how can i normalize the ac3 stream?

You mean without re-encoding it in any way, right?

Try AC3Filter for playback, it comes with a normalize option that adjusts itself dynamically to the current volume.

it would be fine, but i'm try to make my own dvd videoclip compilation for my standalone player :(

Ouch. If I remember a discussion a long time ago correctly, then there's no way to achieve this (it seems not so easy to adjust the bitstream like MP3Gain or BeSweet can do for MP3 AFAIK).
