hello

sorry for my poor english, i'm italian

it seems that player with mediatek mt1389xx chip doesn't output sounds from stereo analogic outputs when DTS audio of a dvd film is selected! DolbyDigital works fine.

the questions:
1) does mediatek chip downmix DTS audio to stereo?
2) using cable or optical output is the Dts audio sent regularly to a HT system?

can anyone do some tests?

thank u

I thought the Elta 8883 had DTS decoding built in?

That is a big shame then, its was one of the things I was hoping for. So is it worth getting the Elta 8883 over the yamada 6100 then? Is the quality of the playback that much better?

Thanks

Cant see a difference in picture quality between them on my TV.
The elta is much more comfortable to use and does not have resizing and ar problems, thats why i bought it.
But the elta does not support subtitles and DivX audio until now, the Yamada does.

I have a Yamada DVX6100.
Dont know if it plays WMA in AVI, but it plays AVI with DivX Audio.
I know its actually the same but i never tried using "real" WMA in AVI.

Why would you like to have DTS downsampled to stereo ?
Every DVD that I have seen has 5.1 dolby or even already downsampled ac3 track for stereo owners. There is no point in DTS, if you leasten it in stereo.
