I've been looking for months and I still cannot find something to convert these files...the problem is that the movie is passworded, so every converter I've tried fails to open it, is there any out there that can get around this, or allow me to enter my password so it can open. I've thought about trying to capture the video from the active window while it plays, but I can't find any util that will do that either...please help!

Please refer to the forum rules again. Especially rule 6!
If the source encode belonged to you, you would know the password!

I never said that I didn't know the password, I DO know the password, I just need a converter which will let me enter it.

That is correct. I believe the decoder is designed to prevent connection to anything except the video renderer. However, you are still forgetting rule 1a. This has been discussed before.

Actually I didn't "forget" that rule, believe me if I could have found the thread which you are referring to I would have just used that instead of posting myself, but I couldn't. Could you please link me, nothing I search for turns up, thanks.

It still sounds a bit dodgy to me!
I would have thought Windows Media Encoder9 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.aspx) would let you do what you want!

Thanks for the help, WME worked fantastic after a bit of playing around and the help of some other utils to fix the window sizing, much appreciated!
