MMC 8.8 mpeg-4 file playback

I have recently redone my pc and installed MMC8.8 to check out the mpeg-4 direct capture feature. It captures fine but won't playback.
Any ideas as to what player or codec I should use?
How can it capture and compress it if it can't play it?

Do you have a TV-Wonder or AIW ?

Either way, you most likely need to download and install a DivX codec to play back MPEG-4 content.

I use ffdshow with ZoomPlayer and get excellent results for play back of MMC 8.8 MPEG4 and Divx. Thank you team ffdshow and Blight. ffdshow can handle various types of MPEG4 and does a beautiful job. ZoomPlayer is a top notch highly configurable player for all types of media. :)

MMC8.8 capture in OpenDivx format, so ffdshow is fine
