for this! I moved the file to the other bidules and append the necessary VST-Plugin to the RAR file.

For those, who can´t contact this FTP I would recommend a FTP client like FileZilla (freeware) (http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/)
- (thx EoH for the tip - it´s interesting - some folks can participate with MS IE6, some can´t - maybe this depends on the IE settings :confused: I´ll check this out - could be the passiv mode...)

Good morning ;) everyone,
had a known problem yesterday with my ISP.
I know that the FTP isn`t that stable. Hope I can fix the problems the next few days.
About you guys who try to connect with any browser:
The problem is that you listen on port 21 to the adress ftp://daphy.mine.nu. But the FTP Server (located behind a firewall) will give another IP and also another port back to your browser. This is where the problems occure.
I`ve tested this behaviour yesterday at work with IE 5.5 and had no problem connecting to the ftp.

But I`ll keep on solving the problem.

If anyone has suggestions ... feel free to post or send me a PM

Little people here will know what ambisonic is at all, so what did you plan to store on there ? samples ?

Read the stereo-to-surround conversion guide and you will understand, grasshopper. :D

BTW, if people post Bidules up there, they need to remember to take out the references to files that don't exist on other people's computers so the error message doesn't pop up: "C:\(directory)\(subdirectory)\(etc.)\blahblah.wav not found."

Hi folks,

to get rid off the trouble with provider, traffic, performance we decided to move to another webspace with unlimited traffic and better performence (thx to Romania ;) )

One little issue is left: UPLOAD
We tried to make uploads via php-script possible but the provider 'wouldn´t like that'. So if you want to upload files, please contact @ndy or me (daphy) via PM or use the old FTP (which is still in use - but not all the time online)

the FTP- Server (ftp://daphy.mine.nu) will be down until the 2nd april due to a practice in my new job. You still can download all the needful things (http://needfulthings.webhop.org/) from our new webhosting. Uploads are possible in the old manner from the beginning of april on (or send a PM to Daphy (http://forum.doom9.org/private.php?s=&action=newmessage&userid=33004) if it is urgent :D )

Hy guys,
the FTP- Server (ftp://daphy.mine.nu) is now online again. I`ve tested it with a FTP- Proggie so I can`t give any warranty that it`ll work with IE or Mozilla. I`ll test it tomorrow at work again. If you encounter any problems feel free to send me a PM.

I also made a mirror to be up to date to needfulthings (http://www.needfulthings.webhop.org) which is still under construction again :D (thanks to Lopelex)

since yesterday i have a new ISP with a faster connection.
Solved also today a problem with our dynamic IP.

While searching another host which allows full php support, this one should do the job as well :sly:

I also updated the FTP (http://dhost.info/needfulthings/index.php), please give us feedback if somethings won´t work as it suposed to do, it´s not nice to search and klick the page by myself every day when traffic runs along with about ~40-50 users a day :rolleyes:

as I heard from daphy, my FTP-Server (ftp://daphy.mine.nu/) was not reachable. There was an error message like this: "you don`t have the right to access this folder" or so on.
I think that i fixed the problem, so that you`ll have full access including to upload (ftp://daphy.mine.nu/incoming/) your files again.

It´s the first time we reached the 1GB traffic limit on this server! :p :p :p

sick of all the traffic stuff I have added a own mirror of needfulthings with unlimited traffic :D

but...

with limited file size, the profider says 987KB per file but I´ve found out it´s only 500KB :(
So I splited each file in this size - hope this is alright for you guys ;)

As I said before: Please no direct links because servers might change, but not the link to needfulthings (http://www.needfulthings.webhop.org)!

Hi folks,

with the unique help of lx we managed to redesign the complete site and turned back to PHP. Parts of the site are now local others in the WWW, mirrors of the files are selected automated if a server reaches its limit, the FTP upload option is no longer needed and so on...
It´s not finished at the moment but we will see ;)

I hope this makes the whole project more clearly.

After eight-times changing the host :angry: we decided to chose this way to stay reachable in any case

direct links to apps or specific webpages inside needfulthings also could run into the data nirvana by the next movment

little technical stuff
the needfulthings projects meanwhile uses 3-4 diffrent server, the main page is hosted by http://www.complete-free-host.com/ which offer real the best PHP, MYSQL support. The complete hosting of all servers is without any fees and costs like the stuff we offer. :p
I hope we can continue this project this way for a long time ... :cool:

This is an importent message to all fans from needfulthings.
With in the next 24/48 hours (or any minute) the server will
be taken off line due to the datacenter putting their prices up :(


PLZ use the chance and download what you need as long as the old provider offers its service.
I´m about to negotiate with two other provider so

we´ll be back ASAP ;)

BTW: wavewizard´s download function for the diffrent encoder plugins will continue to work in any case :o
