ok, i'm reformating my question:
A friend of mine ripped some dvds to vcds using dvdcopyplus 3.8.
A friend of his has a Thompson standalone DVD player. He claims that it can play vcds since it has played some vcds from magazines, but it seems that it cannot play the vcds my friend made.
Now, i don't know the exact model and unfortunately i can't find out any time soon since they are both on xmas vacation right now : (
BUT, it would really help to know whether there is any known problem with Thopson standalones, or with dvdcopyplus (concerning vcd encoding) or at least whether i'm posting on the wrong forum!!
thanks in advance...
ps: i don't know much about vcd encoding, except that it's supposed to be mpeg-1 compliant. My friend says though that he has made mpeg-2 vcds (and i don't mean svcd). Is he bullshiting me or is that feasable, and if it is could that be the problem???
ok noone seems to reply, any moderator is welcome to delete this post :(
