yeah, the mpc(media player classic)is almost the best media player i have ever met,and the source of it was free, but i have something in trouble about it,the mpc have not anything to shift the brightness, color and contrast of any media,so i want you to make a patch to make these things come ture, thanks!wish you a merry christmas!

why would you need it in MPC?
MPC is a (mostly) playback framework, and it seems to be quite good at it.
ffdshow, OTOH, is a combination of dshow decoding/postprocessing framework, and as such, has the color controls you need. you could always use it in raw mode for only its postprocessing capabilities, if you don't like it to decode your streams...
the only enhancement to MPC would be overlay controls, which is somehow related to the playback framework. but it should not, imho, control the video image itself.
cheers

I also have a question about MPCassic, it's undoubtably the best/most versatile of its kind. I have noticed sometimes that my Persoanl Firewall (Sygate) pops up and asks me about MPC if its allowed to access the internet.
I was wondering what MPC wants in the interent? just an update check?

So far I've only heard about one of the windows media filters (maybe) trying to communicate with some certification server. MPC itself does not try to connect anywhere, but it can run the remote controller and http services.
