Anyone know the correct subtitle format for Sonic's DVDProducer?
The user guide shows the format example as:

Quote:
" Start Time End Time
1 00:01:00:00 00:01:19:00 Subtitle line 1

Subtitle line 2

2 00:01:20:00 00:01:29:00

3 00:01:00:00 00:01:19:00 Subtitle line 1

Subtitle line 2

A line greater than 43
characters must be split
to another line. Subtitles
can be two lines of 43
characters of text.

Each line starts with a line number, followed by the starting time code, the ending time code, and the subtitle text. Each line can have 43 characters of subtitle text. If you need more room, you can continue with a second line of text, for a total of 86 characters per
individual subtitle. DVD Producer will automatically wrap the text, but force a line break between line 1 and line 2." Unquote.

Any ideas is what this format is and whether it's available in the usual subtitle programs (SubRip, SubTitle Workshop etc)?

Thanks,

Subrip claims to write it, but it's listed under graphical formats, so it's probably a different format than you talk about (and sure it can not read it back).

Subtitle Workshop can read and write about any format, it more the question to what extent its specialities are respected (in this case the number of chars per line) - if its not already supported you can create a custom format for it ..with this primitive format the custom format should even be flexible enough for good support :)

Thanks, unmei. I didn't see a format for Sonic's DVDProducer, only Sonic's DVD Creator. I'll give Subtitle Workshop a try.
