i searched to see if this has been answered in this forum but couldnt find anything.

i'm new to avisynth (a couple of hours only). i want to edit media (specifically wmv and rm) that uses directshow filters. i tried to combine avisynth (DirectShowSource) to create an avs then open it in vdub but i keep getting "video desync!" message. plus, the video is not seekable, which i gather from this forum that it is a common problem.

should i give up on the idea of using vdub? i cant seem to find a prog for editing rm or wmv.

also, it seems that even if everything goes fine, i will have to compress video before storing it.

Video desync should only very rarely appear with AviSynth 2.53 - are you using the latest version?

you're right. i had an older version. the message is gone now.

but still the video (wmv) is not seekable and i still have to recompress video?
