I have used dvdshrink to reauthor a dvd and cannot get any of the dvd software to take those files and recognize them? Am I missing a step? I have tried nero, dvdxcopy, roxio and clonedvd. Thanks for the help.

I think we need more information. What are you trying to do with the Shrink files? Burn them? Use them as a new DVD? Just load them so you can look at them?
And what kind of problems are you experiencing? Error messages? Apparent success, but not what you were expecting?
Let us know.

I just reauthored the dvd(using dvdshrink), saved the dvdshrink files into a folder called video_ts and then try to use one of the mentioned recording software to make a viewable dvd. None of the recording softwares recognize the saved files (or even show the files in the folder video_ts) when I attempt to tell recording software where the files are to be burned. It's like the recording software does not recognize the shrunk files? No error mssgs, just shows the folder video_ts empty, but I can explore the C drive and all of the files are there?

I don't know a polite way to ask this, and I mean no offense, but are you sure you're using the burning software correctly.
I haven't used anything other than DVDDecrypter to burn a DVD (yet), but from my experience with CD burning software, you don't tell the software where the files are unless you're burning from an image. I'm used to dragging files from Explorer onto the burning software when I want to burn data files.
If you're getting a File Open dialog when you're attempting to select the files, see if there's a file type filter in effect. There's usually a dropdown at the bottom of the dialog that says something like 'Show files of type'. If the dialog shows something like iso or nrg, that would explain why you're not seeing any files - none of them end in that extension (video_ts only has ifo, bup and vob).
Note: if you don't see a filter dropdown, that doesn't mean a filter isn't being used. The software can use its own dialog rather than the Windows default File Open, and the proprietary dialog may not give you an option.
And I'll add a warning. If the dialog does have a filter dropdown, and the dropdown has a 'Show all types' entry, that will let you see the files, but I wouldn't use it to attempt a burn. Unless you get a light bulb (AH! I know what I need to do now), come back and tell us what you see.
PS. Obviously I don't have experience with nero, dvdxcopy, roxio or clonedvd (as I've only used DVDDecrypter to burn DVDs). This is a bit of the blind leading the blind.
If anyone out there who does have experience wants to pipe in with instructions (or a link) on how to burn using any of the software, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.

This link will take you to the DVD2SVCD Official Q&A (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21859/). Scroll down the page to Question 61. There, you'll find a link to Daemon Tools, and an explanation of how to use it. Daemon will also come with a help file, which should also explain the details of its setup and and give an overview of its "virtual drive". Don't worry about this link being a pointer to burning SVCD files, the procedure will work for yours, as well. Using Daemon's virtual drive to mount and burn images is known as the "Foolproof Method".
Kediriken has given you good advice on finding your files in the dropdown options box of whichever burning utility you're using. (Again, please identify yours.) If not directed to show "All Files", only the selected default file format will be shown, which could mean that your files are there, they just aren't appearing because their "name hasn't been called". :)
This is only one way to skin your cat. Oddyseus always uses IMG Tools, and has never had a burning failure due to this software, IIRC.
If this doesn't help, come back with more information. Someone will help you get this figured out!

I know the feeling. I too am trying to re-author a DVD so that my grandchildren can watch the back-up copy in the car on long trips. Ideally the menus and trailers should be removed to limit adult input on the move.
If I use Decrypt in .ISO mode I can burn a copy, but it comes complete with the trash that Disney stuff on to the disk. If I use Shrink I can cut out the trash, even choose a start and end point, but I end up with a bunch of .IFO .BUP & .VOB files. The burning software, Roxio Easy DVD 6 doesn't recognise any of these as media files. Yes I know about the filter in File Open, I can find VIDEO_TS.IFO, but then I get the following warning:
This file not a supported image file. Please select an image file with any of these extensions:.c2d, .iso, .bin, .cue, or .cif.
See my problem?

Yep, I see.
The only part that you are missing is that you need to take the files that Shrink creates and make an image.
Image Tool Classic will make an ISO image for you. I believe you can download it from the doom9 download page. It's free and pretty easy to use. The only tricky thing is you have to move the Shrink files into a directory name VIDEO_TS, then choose the directory above this VIDEO_TS directory as the source directory in Image Tool Classic.
I don't use Nero - posts here lead me to believe it can burn an ISO - but I strongly recommend using DVDDecrypter (in ISO Write mode) to burn the image. There have been numerous reports of versions of Nero that burn unplayable disks. Unless you know what version is the blessed one, I think it's just safer to use DVDDecrypter.
PS. I believe there is a way with Nero to burn the files directly without creating an image first, but as I don't use Nero I don't know how to do that - and taking into account the numerous problem reports I woudn't recommend it in any case.

On this page, you'll find a link to Image Tool Classic, in addition to the DVD Shrink 3 Guide.
http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdshrink3-main.htm
Following this link will take you to the guide for "Classic".

Perhaps this will be another piece of your pie.....if you're not confused by this time. :)

One other note to be dvd compliant. You must have a VIDEO_TS and a AUDIO_TS folder. Place all of you files into the video folder. Please note the names of the folders must be in caps, as I typed them. I noticed in your earlier post you had it in lower case. Hope this helps.
@Kedirekin
The newest version of Nero walks you thru the burning process. During this you actually select the files to be burned. A newbie would most likely do it this way. So what he was describing sounded plausible.

You could get the AutoshrinkISO tool. This automates the whole process between using Shrink and burning the ISO file using DVD Decrypter. I found http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/ very useful for this. It also has links to get the autoshrinkiso software.

Okay, here’s the state of play…hope I’m not pushing my luck! I used Shrink to get just the main feature, Title 1, even set the Start & End frames. This produced a folder G:\VIDEO_TS containing:-
AUDIO_TS (a folder)
VIDEO_TS.BUP .bup 6 144 BUP File
VIDEO_TS.IFO .ifo 6,144 DVD Navigation
VTS 01_0.BUP .bup 55 296 BUP File
VTS_01_0.IFO .ifo 55,296 DVD Navigation
VTS 01_3.VOB .vob 847 589 376 VOB File
VTS_01_2.VOB .vob 1,073,739,... VOB File
VTS_01_1.VOB .vob 1,073,739,... VOB File
I felt things were going well at this stage. I used Image Tool Classic, created an image in G:\. and selected burn with Decrypt. Things still seemed to be going well, but… When I tried to burn Decrypt said that the image was too big to fit on a DVD. I was surprised, in Shrink the size was only about 3Gb. Looked at G:\ and found.
VIDEO_TS.lst .lst 371 LST File
VIDEO_TS.iso 17 .iso_17 855 566 336 ISO 17 File
VIDEO_TS.iso 16 .iso_16 1 073 747 ... ISO 16 File

VIDEO_TS.iso 01 .iso_01 1 073 772 ... ISO 01 File
VIDEO_TS.iso 00 .iso_00 1.073.770.... ISO 00 File
There was also an AUDIO_TS folder in G:\.
WOW! Where did that lot come from? And when I looked again both AUDIO_TS folders appear to be empty, no files, 0 bytes.
Hmmmmm!

Image Tool Classic makes an image of everything in the source directory you select. Since the source directory above G:\VIDEO_TS is the root of G, you accidentally made an image of all the data on your entire G drive.
Create a new directory on G, say G:\movie, and move the VIDEO_TS directory and all its files under it (so now you have G:\movie\VIDEO_TS). Then use Image Tool Classic to make an image of G:\movie (but delete the old image files first - they're taking up a lot of room).
FYI: Image Tool Classic makes the AUDIO_TS directory automatically if it isn't already present. The AUDIO_TS directory is supposed to be empty on a video DVD, but it's needed for maximum capatibility with stand-alone players (though to be honest most players will play fine if the AUDIO_TS folder is not present).
Also FYI: you can place other files and directories (say the DVD-ROM extras from the original DVD) under G:\movie and they will be included in the image. This is a feature of Image Tool Classic, and it's the reason you have to choose the directory above VIDEO_TS when you make an image.
Hope that all helps.
