I have recently become aware of what a codec is, and have discovered many of them on my pc, but i don't know where to find them.
My question is, how do i find the codecs located on my computer and what codecs are best to have?
Thank you in advance, you guys are a great help

Simply Run Gspot(www.doom9.org -> download section). Then you can view your installed codecs. The installed codecs will be mostly residing on System(98/me) or system32(xp/nt) folder inside windows folder. Gspot will give you the names of codecs in form of "*.dll or *.ax or *.acm". Search for these files in system folder.
btw, Do you installed any codec packs ?
Bcoz codecpacks are !
