I have a combination TV/VCR, and naturally when I play DVD's on the TV (using a Playstation 2), the brightness and saturation go all nuts constantly throughout the movie.
This TV/VCR came with the room I am renting, so I can't get rid of it. Does anyone know of a box or anything I can put between the PS2 and the TV to remove Macrovision?
(This seems like a question that would have been asked before, but a search of Macrovision didn't turn anything up.)

Try a search for macrovision killer. Also have a look at this page: http://home.planet.nl/~heuve345/electronics/projects/MacrovisionKiller.html. Depending on where you live, these boxes might be in conflict with DMCA-like laws, though.
Do you have a modded x-box? Maybe the modchip supports MV off ...

Yes, Xbox removes macrovision (if it's modified, but why own one otherwise?).

You need an RF modulator.

The easiest way to do what you ask is to take the RGB output from your Playstation 2 (I presume it has RGB out) and feed it thru' an 'RGB to composite/S-VHS converter'.
Such converters are quite popular for owners of projectors, especially the ones that can convert both ways. And are quite legal!
I would stay away from the dedicated composite/S-VHS anti Macrovision black boxes as many of them don't work very well and are over priced!
Cheers
EDIT: Playstation 2 substituted for XboX. I really should start reading from the beginning of these threads!

Ehhh ... please excuse me. The original poster said nothing about an X-box, it was me who made that up :) - in fact he mentioned a PS2.
Entirely my fault ... sorry for misleading the thread.
