i tried to rip a movie with xmpeg 5,0

i used dvix 5,1 and 2 passes. in first pass i chose multipass 1st pass. and in 2nd pass i chose multipass nth pass. are theese settings the correct ones?

i used the wizard and i think that all other settings were ok. the ripping proccess procceed ok till 100%

but when i tried to open the output file it was 7kb. and i took a massage of a missing class.

can you imagine what went wrong? first time i thought that maybe divx was the problem. but when i tried xvid i took the same result.

I don't use Xmpeg, so I do not know exactly how it is used.

But a two pass DivX encoding requires two runs with the encoder. The first pass will create a .log file and a dummy .avi file. The second and any additional passes will create usable .avi files.

Yep. The settings for the first pass you have to make in normal menu (i think it was output settings or something like that), set the codec to 1st pass.
Don't start conversion yet.
For the 2nd pass you have to got into global project options and find there the tab with '2 pass (divx 4) only' or similar. Activate it and press settings. Then set the codec to 2nd pass. Don't change bitrate or anything, has to be the same like in the 1st pass.

start conversion -> now xmpeg should do 2 passes automatically.
