How do you keep your selection when motion menu repeats itself?

Anyone help on the problem of motion menus when they replay as the hilighted button always returns to the default when the moving menu repeats itself. I would like to keep the selection that it was last over.

I was told that IFOedit or VOBedit can be used to solve this!
Is this TRUE, and if anyone can explain how it is done.

Any help is much appreciated!
