Sorry for the question -- I really ought to know better -- but is there a way of encoding a constant bit rate AAC file using a free GUI? I know nero does this, and I also know that so does aacenc, but strangely nobody seem to think that it was necessary to include this option in the GUI (at least the last version of aacmachine).
Any ideas?

Hi gotaserena,
Actually Nero's CBR method is not CBR. Its VBR with fluctuating bitrate around +/- 5kbps. For using nero plugins with BeSweet Dspguru has already released a new GUI called Oagmachine. For the tutorial look here (http://www.doom9.org/oagmachine.htm)
Hope that helps....

Hei, thanks for the answer...
So Nero's method is actually the same as aacenc with the "quality" setting? I noted that in this way the bitrate varies very little -- at least in the few sound samples I used.
