View Full Version : In what situation is a non-default min interval merited?

I've been doing some encodes with the new Ciao beta2 of Xvid, and with the default settings for now 1 music video (Kylie Minogue: Love @ first sight), a TV episode (Mr Bean), and a portion of a movie (matrix), I have never once noticed that I-frames get consecutively placed together. In other words, who out there has actually found a use for defining a 5-frame minimum interval for I-VOP frames? Seems silly to me, if the codec handles everything just fine by itself, but I don't want to caught some day "with my pants down," as the saying goes.
