I have created a 720x576 JPEG image (for PAL) that I wish to use as a lead in for home grown DVD's.

What I want to do is turn this image into about a 5 second MPEG2 video stream that will play when I put it onto a DVD via an authoring suite.

Is this possible (to create the stream from the JPEG image). If so can anyone tell me how? Or is this just a dumb question.....

It isn't dumb at all. U have more than one ways to proceed.

1. Use a nle, ie Premiere, vegas or even avisynth to produce your 5 sec video.
2. Any authoring program that can accept still images, almost 99% of them do, will turn this image into a 5sec still video for your authoring. U will use it just like a video and the authorer will find its way around it.

Thanks for the reply oddyseus, it's nice to know that it can be done.

I don't have Premiere or Vegas, but I do use avisynth, so I will have a play and see what I come up with.

The authoring program I am trying out is DVD Lab, whilst it does support the importation of still images I haven't found a way to make it turn that image into a still video.

Once again thanks for the reply, it is most appreciated. :)
