Does anyone know if there's a standalone capable of reading subtitles in the *.sub + *.idx format?
I heard some players like the Kiss 450 can read *.sub's and *.srt's, but does it also handle sub+idx created using the Gknot/VobSub method?
Thanks,

Too bad.
How about a chipped X-box?
Would that work?
Thanks

look at the specs of the xbox media player: http://www.xboxmediaplayer.de/info_project.htm
It clearly states vobsub support.
Of course, an xbox makes way much more noise than a standalone player, and it needs to be modded for xmmb to work.

the xbox only has 64 mb ram so if the vobsub is over a couple of MBs then the vobsubs don't work. it also supports zipped vobsubs
