View Full Version : NEMO backup breaks in 2d Disc

I've done about 20 successful DVD backups using DVD Decrypt and then DVD FAB to do the split. Then I got to FINDING NEMO. The first disc comes out just like any other--a perfect record of half the original disc.

However, the 2d disc breaks up. It starts normally, then when the big black fish comes on, there's a segment with a woman talking. But she's not talking--instead, it's audio from another portion of the movie. After a certain time it goes back, then when the group of 3 fish come out for the first time, the movie breaks again to a segment showing how they drew them, again with audio from some other portion of the movie. Well, this goes on about 5 times, every time a new character arrives, until there's a disk read error, maybe 1/3 of the way through the 2d half of the movie.

I tried a number of different options in DVD Decrypt--no change. Then I tried splitting with IFOEdit, which requires a little more work, but figured before I make another coaster I'd see if anyone else can explain to me what happened here.

Thanks.

There are a number of threads on this particular title because Disney used a little more complicated dvd structure as they usually do from my experience of backups on their titles. You can either go through a complicated process to correct this, which might be beyond the scope of a newbie, or use DVDShrink(free & widely used) and decrypt either widescreen of full. I chose full. Then use DVDShrink click the ReAuthor button add your Movie Title. Then click Backup, and in 12mins you've got it. My personal opinion on the extras is....cute, but once is enough, so why keep them?

and indeed if you really want the etxras you could make another disc in Shrink with just them on it.
The main movie fits on one disc without compression
