Hi

This is probably the wrong Forum, But........

When I play Dat files (from video cd's)using either one of my CD drives, I usually have no problem ie..
They open up straight away and I can jump fwd or bckwds instantly using the slider in Window Media player.

However..
As soon as I install Adobe Premier 6.5 (Full, compact or custom), it then takes ages for the same dat file to open and navigating thru the film using the slider again takes for ever.
Uninstalling adobe prmier has no effect but using the system restore puts everything back to normal but alas no premier unless I want the extremly slow opening and playing faults.
No problems with anything else though !

I have tried reinstalling the ASPI layers but may be doing it wrong.
Adobe Premier is really a great program to use and would really appreciate an answer to my problem.

Thanks

David

Convert your VCD's to MPEG's on your hard drive first. Then you can import the mpegs and it won't be slow at all.

Hi

It seems to be a problem with the reading of Dat. files from the CD drive.....they work fine within windows wether they are dat or mpeg files.
All is fine until I install Adobe Premier then it seems to take ages to play video cd's ie Dat files...
