Basically, I'm just looking for the simplest way to strip the extras, keep the title menu, and remove links to removed sections from the menu. I understand how to do it using MenuEdit, IFOedit, and all those good tools, but I'm just wondering if there's a simpler way.
DVD Shrink pisses me off that you can't remove content (extras) completely while keeping the menus, Nero Recode pisses me off because it keeps the PGCs that are called before the title menu. Many of the movies I"m doing now don't need to be re-encoded to fit onto a DVD-R, but would if all the trailers and crap are retained. Does anyone have a suggestion as to the simplest way to keep the menus and main movie, remove dead links, and not make it such a huge hassle (or am I stuck doing it the current way wtih an array of different tools?) Thanks in advance.

I have found only one way that can do this the way you are asking...DVDStripper along with Menu edit can do exactly what you require with only a very short learning curve - as you can understand Menu Edit from what you have stated, the learning curve should be even shorter.
I have found this method to save me lots of hours of work.

@OvERaCiD23, yes DVDStripper can do all that but bear in mind it cannot remove audio/subs or transcode the video. You would need to run it through a transcoder afterwards to strip audio/subs and reduce video if needed and most use DVDShrink to do this
I take it you have seen mine and 2COOL's guides on how to strip a DVD or are you looking to cut out most of the user input involved in the guides?
you can use numerous methods to keep a movie and main menu and it probably all depends on the DVD structure and how much effort you want to put into it as to which you use :)

I'd just like to make it simple, although I'm sure I'll be running into some movies that will require more input (I want to be lazy at the moment). I don't have a problem with learning this all (I've been doing MPEG4 conversions for about 2.5 years, just now getting a DVD writer). I'm going to take a look at CloneDVD later tonight, but it looks to do what I'd like in a simple manner (preserve menu, keep main movie). I don't really want to re-encode the video unless it's absolutley necessary to fit on a DVD-R, as I'd like to retain the original quality as much as possible.
I'll check out DVD Stripper as well, I haven't taken a look at it yet (I've tried just every program I've found a reference to in order to get a feel for what's out there). I did look at the stripping guide from 2COOL (on my HD at home), but haven't really applied it yet (just read through it). I'll play around some more though, and come back with any questions.
