wmpgenc plus question

i am trying to capture and authour from VHS videos and am using winDV to capture through my canopus adcv100 and the WINDV file generated is fine but as soon as i try to convert it using TMPGNC plus the picture goes all stripey where movement takes place , then i use tmpgnc authour to burn to DVD, and it appears that these stripes turn out as stutters on the final DVD when played on my standalone DVD player(s), but it doesnt happen when i play them on the PC CAN ANYONE HELP ME, ive made loads of coasters and waited ages for conversions and all to no avail:confused:

I don't cap from VHS frequently, but it sounds like an interlacing problem. Tell us more about your setup, settings, etc. What resolution are you capturing at, and are you encoding interlaced?
