Hi.
I have noticed that my svcds i've made with dvd2svcd are GREAT, REALLY GREAT in the video quality, but the problem is the sound,it sounds like noisy, i mean, when the sound is medium-to high it has like an echo which is really disturbing. I didn't touch the audio setting in D2S, so i dont know why this problem.

I only set the two audio streams to a bitrate of 192Kbps each one. I haven't tried these svcds with a standalone dvd player because nobody i know owns one with svcd playback cap. Is the bitrate the problem? or what settings should i puto in the audio tab of DVD2SVCD? Please Tell me before i screw up more svcds coming to be done by me...

2.- Another question: I've heard that there is only one version of WinDVD which is able to select between the two audio tracks in a svcd. Could someone please tell me which version is it? Or is it another svcd player software which does this?
Thanks.

Hi borismex

:logfile:

IMHO, 192 kbit/s is a good bitrate for audio stremas (I never use more than this).

EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to answer your second question...

PowerDVD is able to reproduce 2 audio tracks
WinDVD 4.0 (if I remember well) and WinDVD 4.5 (called WinDVD platinum) are also able to do that

why in the world would you create SVCD's if you don't have a player supporting them !?
if you only play them on your PC you should better create DivX / XViD's with AC3 sound. Much better quality with the same (harddisk) space occupied.

Well.. could you please tell me what program to convert my dvds to Divx? I only know things about Svcds, nothing about DivX. So please tell me how to do it. I only know i have a non-official DivX codec wich has a happy face ;-) I dont know if this is the best. But now i have the codec. So? what program to use the codec and convert the whole dvd to DivX?

Thank you.
2.- Hey jsoto, you say its possible to change between 2 audio streams in a svcd using powerdvd? how? is it the deluxe edition only? I own only the free version which comes with the LG DVDrom (i think its version 4.0 XP)

Hi borismex,
1.- You can use many different SW... EasydivX, GordianKnot, virtualDub, FlaskMpeg... . If I were you, I will try GordianKnot or VirtualDub. There are guides in doom9's area.
2.- Just right-click in the audio icon. (It is more or less in the middle of the bottom of my PowerDVD skin, which I suppose to be the default one)
