Hi all, I have a set of 2 dvds of concert and I want to copy to 3 dvd+r's. I used dvd2one and I lost quality. I have ripped the 2 dvds to 2 seperate folders on my hard drive. Now how do I merge them and then split them in 3 so I can burn to 3 seperate dvd+r's. Thanks.

Do you need to keep the menus?
Is saving a buck or two worth the effort? It be a darn sight easier to just split it to four disks.
If you don't need to keep the menus, you can mix and match titles, or even portions of titles, from the two DVDs using DVDShrink. With a little creativity it should be easy to split the titles from two DVDs onto three backup disks.

It's not about a buck or two that I would save, but it's about ease of storage because I have a whole bunch to do (about 10 sets = 20 dvds right now and more to come). I would like to keep all the menus so using dvd2one or dvdshrink is my last option because of quality loss. If it's too complicated or requires too much effort to merge and then to split in three, then I would split each set into 4 dvds. Just an idea because each original dvd has about 7GB. A set of two has 14GB, and it would be perfect if I can copy them to 3 dvd+r's.

I don't know of any way to split/combine and keep menus. It's kind of an excercise in logic - the menu from the first DVD doesn't have hooks for any content from the second, and visa-versa.
With the current state of backup tools, I think you're out of luck. I think the only way to get two DVD-9s onto 3 DVDRs is to reauthor them with one of the authoring tools (iMovie is one example, I can't remember the names of any others off hand). It's quite likely you'd have to give up the original menus, at least on the one DVDR that has content from both DVDs.
Maybe split the two DVDs to two double-siders?
