I have been using both programs and they are fab.

What i like about Dvdshrink - it allows you to choose (with some limitations on amounts) what to compress and by how much.

What i like about CloneDVD - it allows you to remove all parts which you don't want, e.g. logos at the start of the movie.

Now my question can either program do both functions? I want to be able to remove the junk from the start and choose what i want to compress. CloneDVD doesnt tell me how much each part is being compressed, i want to compress the main movie as less as possible and compress the extras as much as possible using either of these two programs.

ceanth, I believe Nero Recode can both replace titles you do not want by a static image (you even have the option to make your own), and let you adjust the compression applied to each remaining title.
However, the static image is displayed for the same duration as the title(s) you removed (so I'd think the gain is not much different from using DVD Shrink "Still Pictures"), and you can only replace entire titles (not portions of a title).

Still not perfect, but maybe closer to what you require. ;)
