in gknot is it ok to use negative values of aspect error when resizing?

i ask this because from the doom9 guide i know that i must not exceed the 2.0% aspect error limit but sometimes when i resize my movie i get negative values like -2.0% , -3.0% etc and i dont know if these values are ok

should i keep them or should i resize the frame in order to get positive values?

thanx in advance

I wouldn't think negative aspect errors would be a concern. It just means that the picture is slightly slimmer than it should be, assuming that a positive error indicated the picture is a little wider than it should be. Otherwise visa versa, but still not a concern.

Hi-

Positive or negative, you're still 2-3% off, which violates Doom9's (and my) recommendation. It shouldn't be any problem at all to get it down below 0.5% or so. Don't be hesitant about cutting a few pixels into the video. You don't want those moons looking like eggs, do you? :)

And as Kedirekin says, there's nothing wrong with negative values. Just make sure they're low negative values.
