Dolby Range Control?

Hi!

I have a question about the Audio section of DVD2AVI.

I use the original ac3 track (5.1) from the DVD and mux with the XVID/DIVX avi.
The default option in
Dolby Digital Decode - Dolby Range Control is set to NORMAL.
What this means? I turned it off, set to OFF.
