View Full Version : AC3 stuck inside videoless VOB

I got some VOB files here that were created with dvd decrypter in IFO mode using stream processing. This is what went wrong... instead of demuxing the AC3 file from the VOBs, the video was demuxed instead of the AC3 audio resulting in a VOB file with only AC3 audio inside. I've tried to extract this AC3 audio using Besweet (w/ VOB plugin), vStrip, and VirtualDubMod. None of them worked. VDubMod thinks it is a regular AC3 file and will mux it with video. The result is scratchy sound and studdery video. Anyone have any suggestions for getting my AC3 audio out of the VOB?

I think DVD2AVI is again required.
For single frame vob with (i.e no moving video), hours of audio, DVD2AVI can demux ac3.

Thanks kpex, dunno how I overlooked vobedit. Guess cause I never used it before. Anyway, it did the job well, and fast. Appreciate the help.

I think you made the same mistake as I and others have. The actual audio stream itself must be highlighted (blue) when you select "demux" in DVD Decrypter. I got several VOB files instead of AC3 myself before I suddenly realised that the choice of Direct Stream, Demux, or Raw is INDEPENDENT for each stream.
