I have Prem 6.5 and I was thinking to upgrade ti Pro, but some people told me absolutely don't upgrade and other told me absolutely upgrade, What can I do? What do you think?

Pro has some decent features. I've played with it only a little bit. But I like the new tranform/cropping tool & the sequencing is quite cool. I think it is worth the cost of upgrade(more so than 6.0 --> 6.5 was).

Klinky,
Do you have any idea on how to import Hollywood FX plugins from Premiere 6.5 into Pro?

No clue, I've never used the Hollywood FX plugins. I do know that the plugin SDK changed(quite a bit since the internal engine is entirely different from previous versions). So that's probably what's breaking it. Unless you have the source, I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon. Atleast not until Adobe releases a patch or Hollywood FX releases a new version($$ for upgrade probable ).

I have succesfully call the plugin from Pro now. I just copy the file from Premiere 6.5 plugin directory into Pro's plugin directory.
Still having difficulty with Pro. I have been playing with it almost a week now.

I would have thought you'd have tried that by now. :p
Premiere Pro is a bit different from 6.5...

Also Premiere Pro will need a CPU that supports SSE instructions ie. P4,AMDXP,etc. Will not start otherwise ;)

Inserting transition effect is not as easy as 6.5. Creating title seems to be faster on Pro. Some hollywood FX transition plugins do not work right on Pro. Rendering seems to be faster on Pro. Multiple sequence on Pro is superb.

Premiere pro is by far better than other versions of it. Much more profesional. I've always use premiere but compairing it to other "profesional" tools it was just a "toy". Now it looks professional, but it has quite a similar interface than Final Cut pro 3 (Mac NLE most well known application). For me it's just a copy of that. It depends of what you want to do with it. If you look for really easy editing, maybe sticking to previous versions is better.

I work as an editor for ABC and we use premier 6.0-6.5 and pro. I would say that you might as well go for pro. It has a few more options and tweaked abilities than 6.5. However if you are on 6.5 already then thre is no real reason to upgrade unless you just want to. Yes there are upgrades to 6.5. However the layout is different and you don't quite have all the same tools so it will drive you nuts to learn the new interface right away. Since I'm in the news industry we have to edit video very fast so 6.5 and 6.0 are better. However 7.0 pro is more of a Final Cut Pro style which is slower yet if you take the time you can make some prettier looking edits.

Premiere Pro imo is much more like Final Cut Pro than it is like the old Premiere versions.
Premiere has finally become a fast pro tool, I like it very much because of it's new effects- and transitions controls.
Inserting transition effect is not as easy as 6.5
????
I guess you haven't quite checked it out yet - inserting and tweaking transitions is now 500% faster and more easy than before!

I think it is due to migration. I have to get use to it.
