As the question tells,if you have a completely clean movie,do there is a need of undot()filter?
Or is there a special advantage in using undot() in all scripts.Like compressibility....
BTW,will undot take large cpu usage?
Thanks

it's been answered before, but I guess most people would say :
* cpu usage : you won't notice any difference
* image quality : though you have to make your own opinion about quality, you probably won't notice any difference either, while you may gain in compressiblity
so, using undot won't hurt in any way... ;)

Thanks penpen,
But I feel like enabling film-effect in DivX 5.x decoder. And most of time when i use it the rips looks over smoothed.
May be I require a close observation. Thanks anyway.

Thanks alexmi,I had had a look to that thread other day.I think the source i'm using is causing problems. Its inherently smooth.may be its causing all the trouble.Well i did encode with and without undot(),and i could not feel any difference.Still the same.I could not calculate the CPU usage as I did several hibernation during encoding, which will not give exact time:( .
