I have a Pioneer DVR 104 that i have updated with the 1.40 firmware. I am using Memorex disks that say that they are 1X-2x. I do not seem to be able to get 2x burning. is there something else that I must do? Is the burning software, either in DVDit or Prassi able to sense the allowable burn rate?
Thanks.

Interesting! DVDdecriptor says the manufacturer of the disk with all the Memorex Labels is TDK502sakuM3.
Is that still a crap disk? FAQ says that TDK does manufacture 2x disks.
Does the rating in DVDdecriptor really test the media in some way or is it just echoing the mf'r rating?
Any thoughts about Comp USA accepting a return of media?

Any thoughts about Comp USA accepting a return of media? Yes they do!! In fact I brought back memorex DVD-RW and told them they where junk. I could only write to them once. But on my DVR-104 with the 1.33 2x4all firmware I can burn compusa brand 1x disc at 2x with out a problem. Hope that helps.
