Can you see the same blocks in the source as well?
IMHO 1140-1300kbps is really not that much. Remember that DVDs often have a bitrate 5-6 times higher than that in fast movement scenes;) Music videos don't tend to compress well since there's usually constant and fast motion in the video.

The thing is that the fast scenes are much better looking!
The most squared are red colours in quiet scenes...
The sourse almost have no such problems! I Use divx5.
By the way - very strange, but I dont know how i managed to make
print screen before - now it doesnt work - only black squares.
A year before i compressed Smashing Pumpkins video without these
artifacts! I used VFAPI(?) and Divx3

Different material behaves differently;) You can't compare two different clips directly.
Have you tried enabling some of the filtering in GKnot? Different resizing? I'd also try using SansGrip's Blockbuster filter on that.

Another question - maybe codec tuning will help?
There is a bitrate parameter in second pass:
low-motion/constant quality/fast motion...
Maybe try to change it? Now it is constant quality

Ok, but why do they look so pixolous ???
Looks like some sort of simple resize... !!!
I bet its a fullscreen resize rendering problem...
Have you tryed ffdshow for playback ???
The most squared are red colours in quiet scenes...
I think this is caused by this well known chroma upsampling bug !!!
Here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=63736) is some info about this subject... ;)

@TWAIN: How does it look like when you open it in VDM? It seems to me like some mess in DirectShow chain.

What is "VDM"???
How can i use ffdshow for playback ???

VDM is short for "Virtual Dub Mod" !!!
Its a A/V processing tool... You can find it here !!! (http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtualdubmod/)
To use ffdshow, you have nothing else to do than intalling it... ;)
You can find it here !!! (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow )

As concerns my screenshots, it's looks like my fault. Because of some reason at that moment my overley was turned down. So those pics a out of problem. But of course, red color pixelisation remains - here is new screenshots (http://www.altmusic.ru/Pixel/page_01.htm) . Pixelisation remains even if no Full Screen is used.
There is JPG (no pixelization) and PNG (it is).
In VDM it still remaind. Now i'll try ffdshow

What settings did you use with DivX? They can make a big difference - good or bad:D

What do you mean with this ???
Are you still talking about blocking in this red colors ???
When yes, have you putted "ConvertToRGB32()" in ffdshow's AviSynth tab ???

Yes, red pixelazation (blocking) still visible.
Uhm... Now Im really confused !!!
Normally this should correct the chroma bug...
Have you disabled "Overlay Mixer" ???
Maybe this is GC related ???
Sorry, but Im a bit out of Idears now... :D

From looking at the pictures, it looks to me as though the encoding is OK but for some reason, the resizing is rubbish. How are you playing these movies? Are you capturing the frames at full screen and resizing down again using other software or are these 100% screen grabs?
Cheers, Beastie.
