i recently switched from windows 98 to xp and ifoedit does not appear to work anymore. i can edit files fine, but when i try to play any video streams (vts01.. etc) withe the "DVD Play" button,
it plays for a split second, then i get the error msg:
IfoEdit.95.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
The Error signature shows the following:
AppName: ifoedit.95.exe AppVer: 0.9.5.0 ModName: ac3audio.ax
ModVer: 2.2.0.0 Offset: 0001121d
Does IFOEdit work with xp?
How can i fix this?

IfoEdit does work on XP.
You have a codec problem, look in C:\Programs\Windows Media Player folder for Mplayer2.exe - start that and open a VOB
You should get a similar message. If it does play at all, right click on the screen and look at the properties to see which codecs are in use. Post back here.
Actually by the nature of this problem this thread should probably be in another forum so it may just get moved.

Yes Ifoedit does work with xp, have never had a problem with it.
I had a similar problem with Vobrator awhile back, read
here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46662), it might help.

I don't have a folder for Mplayer2.exe in my windows media player folder. I have Power DVD 4.0 installed though. when i double click a VTS file, power DVD pops up and runs fine. where can i get Mplayer2.exe?

If you have a normal install of XP you should also hav3e windows media player. Mplayer2 is in the SAME folder !
If neither is there look in "Add/Remove programs"
(in the German version its called "Software" somehow more apropriate)

i had another look.
Looks like i do have mplayer2.exe in myn windows media player folder.
i double clicked on it and loaded a vob file (***.vob) and it plays just fine. any other ideas? maybe it has to do with the executable asociated with the file type vob?

Ok - now you need to do what I asked above :
right click on the screen and look at the properties to see which codecs are in use. Post back here.
Sometimes other codecs push PowerDVD out of windows priorities so I wrote an installer for PowerDVD 4 codecs.
If you don't see cyberlink codecs being used in the properties window then use this to get them back:
PowerDVD codec installer (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59243)
