Jittery Captures

Sometimes when I capture the video jitters. I don't lose any frames, and everything seems to go well, but it just jitters. Before it did it, and then I uninstalled Winamp 2.7 and it seemed to fix it. Now I installed Winamp 5 and it doesn't do it as much, but I think I see just a little bit of jitteryness in the picture.

Anyone else ever experience this?

What capture card are you using?

With a DC30 (pinnacle) I get very jittery captures. After almost a year of frustration and trying everything (different VCR, computer, OS, tapes, even the DC30 itself) I came to the conclusion it was a combination of the DC30 and the videotape.

The DC30 works very well on pristine tapes & off-air. But, anything else - forget it. My tapes are home video stuff (and quite old). They randomly jitter, which makes it really hard to try and fix. That is, it jitters differently when capturing the same clip.

What is your material?
