When it's some italic part of text in the middle of line, Subtitle Workshop (V 2.03) just set whole line as italic, what is no good thing. It's when source file is srt format, I didn't try other formats. Is it some bug, or can be set? I didn't see anything in settings about that.

Is there some converting programm which correct handles italics?
Subadjust has also problems with it, but it's old and not developed anymore...

Right. Subtitle Workshop doesn't have a full tag support up to now, and I think there won't be until next MAJOR update. Sorry for this.

I have added an option which might work as a workaround for this: see in settings the "No interaction with tags" option. It might help you.
