My current project is to take an old video tape and convert it to DVD, as a DVD has not been made for this perticular movie.
Currently, my setup is a sony VCR connected to an HP Media Center PC, hooking up composite cable for video, and line-in for sound. the capture card in the PC uses WDM drivers, so i took the advice of the guides and used VirtualVCR.
So far, i've got nothing but audio/video async. After breezing through some suggestions (assuming its related entirly to frame drops), my sync has improved tremendously. Originally it was 10 minutes off, now its only about 30 seconds off.
Now, before i get flammed for the hardware setup, I work at a electronic retailer so all this is done from work. after thinking about that for a while, i realized that i can hook up a VCR to a DVD-R set-top and just let her rip.
Now, i still want to add a menu to the final product, so i'll end up putting it back on a computer regardless. I still want to get a general feel to see if this is a good way of doing things (as opposed to actually /fixing/ the computer async problem, heaven forbid). Any comments, suggestions, flames, etc are very welcome as i'm extremly new to the whole capturing process.
