A/V sync issue with MPEG2VCR

Hi all, I've got a problem and maybe someone can help. BTW, I've searched and my specific problem doesn't seem to be covered.

I'm trying to capture a VHS tape and then edit out commercials and I'm ending up with a sync issue.

I capture via I/O Magic card (with loop back cable to Soundmax integrated sound card), using PowerVCRII set to MPEG2. When I watch the capture via PowerVCR, there is no sync issue. I assume that means I don't have any problem with my hardware setup or PowerVCR.

I then open MPEG2VCR and view the file and there is no sync issue.

I then edit out a commercial. Before saving, if I play the file (in MPEG2VCR), it correctly edits out the commercial and remains in sync.

I then save the file and then open it up again and play it in MPEG2VCR. Now when I play it, the audio is in sync before the edited spot, but loses sync after the edited spot.

I then open the newly edited file in PowerVCR and see the same sync problem.

Can anyone explain what my problem is? TIA.

which version of mpgvcr are you using?

I'm not sure what version it is/was. I downloaded the trial on Friday and it has expired. Must have been the latest version though. I still would like to find out the problem since so many people seem to like it.
