I have a 98se machine with a "Visiontek Xtasy Everything " card. I just installed and tried Virtual VCR lastnite, best capture progy i eva used except for it crashes @ 4gigs ruffly. Its probably my N00bness and do not have it setup right but i need some help so i can capture @ lest 2hrs.Have plenty of disk space, i did a capture twice an it crashed exactly @ same point each time. I know it has something to do with the file size. I feel dumb : ( any help w/b greatly appreciated. Thank You for the help.

If you'd have done what forum rule 1) tells you, you might had found out that Win98SE uses FAT32, which is limited to 4 GB for one file. Unfortunately VirtualVcr doesn't support splitting. There two ways to capture longer sessions: Switch to iuVCR, it can split the capture to several files of a maximum size. Upgrade to Windows 2000 or XP. They both use NTFS as file system, which hasn't such a 4 GB limit.

I know this about the rules an i understand the 4 gig thing- but i thank u for pointin out that Virtual VCR doesnt have a spliter - thats what i thought i was missing in setup somewhere-but guess not. " Switch to iuVCR, it can split the capture to several files of a maximum size"
This is what i guess i need i hope it works as good as Virtual VCR-cause i dont want to format to xp. will do a search for it. Thank You
