Regarding the increasing number of posts such as BassPigs on DVD media compatibility and reliability, I have a simple question. Just what is it that makes the TY media "Good" and Princo "Bad crap"? I know quality control has something to do with it, but what are some other reasons? Is it cheapter substrate, or contamination, or ???

And is it true that if you burn a TY media rated for 4x at 1x it will be a better "quality" than if the identical disc is burned at 4x? Does the same logic apply on a Princo 4x media (ie, burning it at 1X will reduce C2 errors).

Please clarify. Any insight will be appreciated

Princo discs can be burnt better at 1x or 2x than 4x, but this will not influence its poor durability
Is it cheapter substrate, or contamination, or ???There is more. For example, the disc can have holes like a bad street, the pregroove can have a shape like an egg....

Also, Princo discs are kinda Vampire discs: They won't survive long if you expose them to sunlight. Better media will not die that fast.
