Hi,
I am using CCE 2.62 for encoding an AVI which I captured in DV1 format by another capture program. I am encoding in MPEG1 with CBR 1150 for NTSC VCD.
After encoding 7% of the movie CCE crashes with the following message:
"CCE Encoding failed: CBR VBV ovf frame# 9049 (01:05:01:21) P 5120(1.1) max 4850.22(1.0) rel 269.78 1.06 qsv 62.00->62.00"
Does anyone know what this error means?
I later tried to mark in point after that frame (9049) and it encoded about 26% of the rest of the movie until it reached frame 33000 and it crashed with the same message again.
PLS help. Thanks,
RB

It's a VBV (Video Buffering Verifier) overflow. Try a newer version of CCE or enable the anti noise filter at a low value.

I tried to enable anti noise filter to maximum but it crashed again, this time with about 40% of the clip encoded.
I also tried to use CCE 2.66, video CD mode but it came back with the error:
"CCE encoding failed: Internal error: bad MV detected 4: 64 4: 62/ -1: 0 -1: 0"
what does it mean? Is there a guide with error explanations anywhere?
Thanks,
RB

Sorry, no idea. CCE-SP really isn't the best choice for MPEG-1, you may want to try TMPGEnc.

Well, I like CCE because is faster. Anyway, I used AviSynth with CCE 2.50 and encoded it finally.
If anyone knows what that error bellow means pls let me know. Thanks.

Hi,
I've been using CCE Basic 2.69.01.10 to encode avi (captured from VHS sources w/VirtualDub 1.5.10 employing Huffyuv 2.2.0 compression: predict left/convert to yuy2) to mpeg2 for about two months now and never had a problem until last week. Now CCE constantly causes crashes (black screen, reboot).
Tried different avi files, interlaced, progressive, tried 1-pass CBR, 2-pass CBR/VBR but had no luck with either combination. Also, the computer never crashes at the same point of the encoding progress. It makes no difference whether I have any tasks running (firewall, antivir). FWIW, when browsing with Mozilla while running CCE, Mozilla would sometimes crash (Mozilla has always been stable while running CCE until last week).
I found many threads regarding CCE crashes, read the FAQ but couldn't find a solution. Could it be that CPU temperature causes my computer to crash (which would be strange since I've successfully used CCE before)? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
