View Full Version : Mpeg 5.1 from a avi with 5ch ???

Ok.
I have an divx(avi) file and it contains 448kb 5ch audio. And if I use avi2dvd settings in dvd2svcd , I am able to get out DTS audio when i burn my dvdr or ?? (I only have to tick in "mpeg 5.1" and "384kb")in audio ??

I have only tried to back up a original dvd with dvdshrink and I get the DTS symbol on my amplifier.

Is it possible with DVD2SVCD ?? If the futures is as i described ??

MPEG 5.1 audio is a different format to DTS. There is a strong chance your DVD player or surround amplifier (or both!) will not support mepg 5.1 audio.

As for your avi file, browse to it from the conversion tab in DVD2SVCD and it will list the audio streams. If the Mode is listed as AC3, try this guide here (http://nickspage.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/avi2dvd.htm) on how to copy AVI with AC3 to DVDR, retaining the 5.1 audio.
