View Full Version : TMPGEnc Plus crashes on opening of mpg file

I am extremely frustrated about this problem.
I've got a TMPGEnc Plus trial version on my PC which is Pentium4 running Windows XP Professional. I also have a TMPGEnc (not Plus) trial version.

I've captured some digital video from satellite, which is in MPEG-4 format, but the resolution needs to be converted to DVD compliant resolution. I've worked with TMPGEnc some weeks ago and it did work for me, now both programs when loading up video file simply make windows report an error so the program is closed. I even tried to load up a file MADE in the same TMPGEnc program and program still crashes. I've tried to copy the file and program to FAT32 drive since I use NTFS and still nothing has improved.

I've tried to open the video files into virtual dub but it gives "mpeg import filter: pack synchronisation error" on all files.

Finally I tried ULead's Movie Factory 2 which easily opens all the files I need and even converts them, but I need to make files converted and MF2 only generates a DVD for me which isnt convenient.

Or maybe anyone can suggest any other converter to do 2 pass VBR for my video file?

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions,

Mike

Try completely un-installing and re-installing tmpgenc. Make sure you clear out all reg entries prior to re-install. When this happened to me this fixed it.

By the way, when I look at the detailed crash report it says it was during running of claud.ax file, which AFAIK is audio filter from CyberLink PowerDVD 5.0 I use. Maybe this can give any clue?
