Scenarist crashes everytime on me. Does it have anything to do with the blue logo at the beginning. Didn't use subs either.

Do a search on Prime95 and Memtest and "certify" your machine first before we can proceed.

Ok, did the memtest for 20 min and now am doing the prime95 torture test on each processor for the last 2 hours. 100% for each one. Is this enough?

Not the best answer but probably the easiest...

If you are only using one audio track and no subs get TMPGEnc DVD Author (fully functional 30 day free trial http://www.pegasys-inc.com/e_download.html ) and author your DVD with that.

For the video file use the Encoded_Video_CCE_PAL.mpv (or ....TMPGEnc_PAL.m2v) if the source is PAL and Pulldown_Encoded.... if the source was NTSC.

Once selected you will be able to browse for the audio to go with it (encoded_audio_1.* in your Movie folder). Choose No Menu in the Create Menu dialogue, and set it going. I would, however, check the lipsync in Win/Power DVD before burning to DVDR.

It doesn't solve the problem with Scenarist crashing, which I guess needs to be addressed, but if other discs have worked OK it may get just get you out of a hole for this one.

Edit: One other thing - are you ripping with internal routines or with an external ripper. There have been reports of ripping with DVD Decryptor possibly causing Scenarist problems.

Do I have to manually change anything in the frameserver tab? Or does this program automatically chose the correct settings each time you load the ifo file? I always assumed that it did it all for you. Also on the advanced settings under the encoder tab I have Linear and zigzag checked, Color conversion to YUY2, GOP M=3, N/M=4, SEQ is 1.

I also changed to max bitrate to 8500 and that did no difference. I do get good backups on some dvd's, but some just fail at 34% of the creating dvd files in scenarist. Using 2.7 on winxp pro.
