View Full Version : Video and Audio files different length

I used the latest DVD2SVCD and got two desynchronized SVCDS--audio ahead of the video by about .25 sec. When I checked the elementary streams, the audio stream is about 6 sec longer. Could this cause the desynching? The final muxed stream is the length of the Video stream.

It seems to me that this should not be the case as the desynchronization remains even at the end of the segment.

Solved the desynchronization of the first segment by adding .25 seconds to the audio stream and remuxing it with TMPGEnc. It worked by it was painful and LONG.

Right now, I am working on the second part. Somebody suggested changing the length of the audio stream which I did with GoldWave. I will post the results after I finish remuxing.

Any insights on this issue?

Thanks

hi and welcome to the forum,
i hope you do not mind if i move this to the dvd2svcd basics forum, as i'm sure you'll revieve more help from there...

anyway, to your problem, usually this happened to me if i did an avi2svcd instead of the usual dvd2svcd. if you did do it this way (for whatever reason) it is likely that it is caused by vbr mp3 muxed into the avi...

Thanks for the replies so far.

A bit more info. No, I did not use AVI2SVCD. I was backing up the newly acquired Lion King DVD via DVD Decrypter and then DVD2SVCD with CCE SP 2.5. The audio was left as .mp2 and I don't think it was VBR.

Unfortunatelly, I deleted the other logs that may help solve the problem.

Thanks again, I awaiting more help. I am primarily interested in the reason for this whole thing!

Have you tried ripping with internal routines?

External rippers occasionally cause problems so it's always worth trying an internal rip if things don't go to plan.

BeSweet log seems OK to me.
