I really like these forums and have learnt ALOT!
(Dont sure if this is the right forum for this but hey lets try)
I am shooting local documenataries (with a 'semi' pro camera Sony PSD-150) etc for the moment and time isnt a issue at all when doing my DVDs this is the way i am doing this atm.
Taking the movies into the computer in DV and edeting it and that sort of stuff then exporting it to DV AVI with Microsofts DV codec and make the picture in TMPGEnc and Sound in toolame
Here is the settings i use;
TMPGenc
Using a CBR of 8000 preferably but often down to like 6000kbps VBR to fit a bit more into a DVD (8000kbps max, avg 6000kbp, min 1500kbps)
Encode mode: Interlace (Since my rawmaterial is always interlaced and the final output is for TV boxes.
DC component precision: 10bits (Heard that this is the best way on high bitrates)
Motion search precision: Highest Quality
Source aspect ration: 4:3 625lines PAL
Then i dont use any particular filters (unless my source is a old VHS tape then i use Noise reduction(should maybe use this on all my DV material to?))
Then the part that confused me a bit:
GOP Structure:
which is: IBBPBBPBBPBBP but when i click on "Standard" it adds "BBP" to the end of the GOP structure so i am very confused what to use.
Quantrix Matrix:
Here i use "mb1 interlaced DV" wich i found on this forum wich seems to be working REALLY good for me!
Special settings:
Here i use "Output YUV data as Basic YCbCr not CCIr601"
Sound:
Toolame
Normal stereo 380kbps
-----
My question/questions if i am doing anything wrong (i know there is other codecs but from what i have read and my own tests i like this one but always looking for ways to improve this) So is there any filters i should use? like any avisynth filters or something to improve this or any other things that i have missed(wich is very likely;S) and what GOP structure i should use...
Also i am wondering if there is any benefits of using AC3 sound instead of mp2 if its played in PAL country and 2channel(I usally use mp2 in bitrate of 380kbps)
So any repsons would be very good to have!
Bad and Good!
Hope someone found time to read all this ;)
