I want to convert a VCD to DivX.
I read the VCD to DivX guide in Doom9 , but after converting .DAT->.mpg with VCDgear, Vdub can't import the
whole .mpg file(I get a packet synchronization error somewhere in the middle of the import process).
If I use Vdubmod, the import process stops at the same point, but I don't get an error and I can continue with only a part of the movie opened in Vdubmod.
Why does that happens? I read that VirtualDub(mod) can handle MPEG1 files. The fact the process doesn't stop till it reaches a certain point, maybe means that my .DAT file was corrupted? If it's that, how can I fix it?
If it's not, then maybe I have an MPEG2 file? It is named avseq01.dat and has 352x288 resolution, so it's probably an mpeg1 file. Nevermind, my questions are these:
I read in the forum that I can frameserve my file using Avisynth. So, I have to find a way to make Avisynt (ver 2.51) see my .DAT file. I read (in the forum again) that I can use DVD2AVI to do that. Using VCDgear I can convert my .DAT file to .mpg but when I try to make the conversion, DVD2AVI produces and empty .d2v file...(so probably I must be dealing with an mpeg1 file...?)
